Thanks to everyone who contributed to the West Coast Chamber Jazz Trio’s Kickstarter. We made the nut and enough extra to cover the vig. Your rewards are on their way, and stay tuned for the album release show at the Electric Lodge Nov. 10. If you donated you’re on the guest list. No “plus ones” though.
In October I am playing two nights at the Royal Opera House in Oman with MESTO, then joining the Palisades Symphony on the 16th. We’re playing Stravinsky’s violin concerto, which I’m pretty sure is the first Stravinsky I’ve done. Looking forward to that. On the 18th I’ll be at Cal State Dominguez Hills in an improvising quartet organized by Jonathon Grasse with Ellen Burr and Tom Steck, and then there’s a run of Halloween gigs: on the 27th Jack Curtis Dubowsky brings his live score for “The Golem” to my workplace, with myself, Charles Sharp, and Alicia Byer in the band. On the 29th Charles and I will round up The Decisive Instant creative orchestra for a set at Open Gate Theatre‘s fete in Pasadena, and on the 30th I’m improvising with poets on Dave Williams’ series in Long Beach. Good times ahead.
Also, the next batch of shows for the Soundwaves concert series has almost come together.
