The New Year

2015 is starting slowly. At first, my gear was playing more shows than I was, as I loaned my bass and amp to a couple of artists passing through town, but yesterday was my first show of the year: the always sold-out Santa Monica Symphony Martin Luther King Day spectacular, this year with a gospel choir. Next weekend 3/4 of the old Scott Heustis Group (Scott, Breeze Smith, and myself) will be joined by Slam Nobles on vibes for the closing party of an art show in Long Beach.

At the end of February, I’ll be in Adam Rudolph’s large ensemble for two nights at the Electric Lodge in Venice. This is an awesome group with some legendary players. It’s an honor for me to be included. Don’t miss it.

Things will get busier in March with another symphony gig, the return of The Decisive Instant, and a Bay Area tour with Andrea Centazzo. That’ll get its own post, and then some…
